Morning Run & An Update on the Elimination Diet

This morning started off bright (literally as the sun is still shining!!!) and early with a run with my cousin, Danyel. We were supposed to meet over by Hawks Stadium to catch the greenbelt but I forgot and went to Veteran's Park! So, after a text from my running buddy, I remembered and drove on over. Sorry Danyel! 

We decided to do a bit more walking than running and did not care AT ALL about our pace. We started with a 3 minutes of walking, 2 minutes of jogging, which worked quite nicely. Neither of us have really been running since the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving so we are going to ease ourselves back in. We went out 15 minutes and came back. We covered 2 miles, so truly, our pace was just enough to get our heart rates up and our legs muscles a little wake up from the long winter. We decided to try to get back into a habit of Sunday morning runs. Tyler and I like to go grocery shopping on Sunday mornings so Danyel and I will be meeting up at 8 am. It means making sure I go to bed at a decent time Saturday but it also means a Sunday nap :) It felt GOOD to get back out there so I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. I had minimal pain in both knees that went away pretty quickly. I am just going to make sure I foam roll today so I keep my muscles limber. 

As far as the elimination diet I have some good and some bad news. The good news is my GI tract seems to be improving overall. It's been much more consistent, which has been nice. In addition, there have been no night sweats for a week! YAY! No headaches really aside from yesterday, which went along with some sinus pain, so I think I might have just a little cold. So, the bad news is that I am getting a bit tired of eating the same thing everyday! I cannot wait for the last week to be over so that I can start bringing back in some of my favorite foods. I put some nutritional yeast (nooch) on some veggies for breakfast this morning so I am curious to see if I have any night sweats. Nooch has niacin and vitamin B12, which can make you sweat a lot if you have too much. I had suspected it might be the nooch (I love it on popcorn) but with this diet it doesn't say that I am not allowed to eat it. So, after 2 weeks without it, I am giving it a try. We shall see how I feel in the morning. I also got new sheets so we will see if that helps too.
