Happy Birthday Weekend to Me!

Today is my 29th birthday and ya know what? I am really loving it! I love birthdays because they allow you the opportunity to reflect on your life. You are one year older, which truly is something to cherish rather than hide from. I hope to maintain this perspective as I continue to age because I really do believe that you should be proud to get older. I plan to live my life to the fullest and be able to look back each year and say, I am proud of all of the choices and experiences that filled up my life. Of course I also believe in quality over quantity, which is why I have chosen to take better care of myself over the last couple of years. I still indulge occasionally in alcohol, chocolate, processed foods and take a break from exercising but overall, I prefer to eat well and move my body because I just feel better as opposed to gluttony... although I do love to be lazy too! Basically I just feel SO grateful to have a birthday to celebrate!!! Anyway, end of philosophical birthday rant.

So what did I do this weekend to celebrate? Well first Tyler and I went on a date on Friday night. We went to Casa Mexico (splurged on a margarita and had a veggie chimichanga-delish!) and then went a rented a movie (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty-LOVED it!) and got some ice cream from Sub Zero (they have alternative milks-AWESOME!)

Then bright and early Saturday morning Tyler and I went to the Fairgrounds for a Hot Air Balloon ride! Tyler bought it for my birthday last year and we were finally able to get a booking that was not canceled due to weather-yay! It was a gorgeous morning too for it. Tyler and I were a little nervous before getting in the basket but once we got going the nerves left us. We had our own compartment which was nice since there were 5 other people in the basket. We had a nicer balloon so the captain could pull a rope to change direction so we weren't facing the back the whole time. We saw lots of wildlife and familiar areas:
Waiting on the balloon to be filled up
 Lift off!
The second balloon that flew off at the same time as us
 Boise, you are so gorgeous
 Gaining some elevation
Do you see any chickens or roosters in the wetlands??? tee hee
Heron nest with mama and daddy guarding
One of the herons flying away
 Another balloon joined the sky
 The inside of the balloon
 Corn fields

 Our reflection
 Deer in between the trees
Our balloon after we landed

After the hot air balloon ride we went home and took a little nap. When I woke up there was a package for me: dairy-free truffles from Jessica! So of course I had to sample one right away :) Thanks Jess!

 So pretty!
Oemgee!!! The "milk' chocolate one is so good!

The rest of the day was spent doing projects around the house and then dinner at the Bezuhlys. Sunday started with groceries and then a fun afternoon filled with Settlers of Catan with the Gables and our new friends, the Koffers! Then Tyler and I headed to Dave and Buster's to meet up with my family. First, we hit up the bar:
Shot shot shot shot shot shots!
 This guy.... :)

Then we spent a couple of hours playing games. I had a total blast! It'd been awhile since I have played video games. Tyler and I did well in tickets, just over 3,000. Then my brother donated about 100 so we could get a game called, Dirty Minds. Thanks Dust! We will have to play it soon. Mom-great idea on Dave and Buster's money for all of us! It was fun for the adults to play like kids! Then we headed to Edge for dinner. Dinner was delicious as it always is and the beer... there is no words. I indulged in that too! I got some nice presents, including a stuffed cat inside a cupcake in lieu of a real cake due to my dietary preferences- I think people have figured out Tyler and I like cats...

Anyway, today, my actual birthday, has consisted of sleeping in, a 90 minute massage, lunch at Whole Foods (burrito bowl was yummy!), washing my car, booking our honeymoon (!) and after this post, a bubble bath. I might just eat a truffle too in the tub, because I can!

Thanks to everyone for the love you have shared with me this weekend (and all year)! I am so lucky to have the friends and family that I do and I truly am living a FANTASTIC life! Love you all!
