Update time!

It has been 2 months since my last blog so I figured I better sit my butt down on get it done! Things have been very busy here at the Animal Kingdom-let me catch you up.

In the last blog I mentioned that I have a new job and this past Wednesday I have my 90 day evaluation- time flies! Everything went well and I am settling into my job nicely. Speaking of jobs, Tyler just started a new job! He works at HomeBrewStuff, which is pretty perfect because he gets to talk about and learn about beer all day long! I am super excited for him and so incredibly proud; he will great at his job!

Another new thing that has been keeping me busy is grad school. I started 3 weeks ago and so far it hasn't been too bad and it is flying by! I love how it correlates with my new job and so far I have enjoyed it.

Tyler, Cody, Emma, and I just went to Flathead Lake in Montana for the fourth and it was a blast! It was so nice to relax and see Tyler's family and eat some REALLY great food. Tyler brought some of his homebrew, which of course was a hit. Especially his bourbon stout, the Villain. Definitely a keeper! We got some sun and fresh air and some quality time with some good people.

We just moved our new chickens in with our older chickens so we now have a total of 7! The animal kingdom is expanding! I can't wait for a plethera of eggs. In the mean time I am enjoying looking at the exotic chickens' feathers, which are so beautiful.

On a sad note, we lost one of our family in May. Piper Lee went missing on cinco de Mayo and we haven't seen her since. It's been a really hard adjustment for me since she's been in my life since I was 18. She was with me during some of the challenging, stressful, and time of self discovery in my life and I am so grateful for her companionship. I will miss you Piper.

Lastly, the work continues towards getting myself fit and healthy! I have lost 44.2lbs and just completed my second 5K, this time running it in less than 31minutes! I am so proud of all I have accomplished this year. With my birthday next week coming up, I think I really turned my life around for the good and I feel so much better than I did a year ago. I have more energy, my health has improved, I am much fitter, and I am just happy.
