The Holidays!

The past month and a half has been crazy! Here is a quick run-down:

Thanksgiving
Tyler and I hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year for my immediate family. We deep-fried a turkey as well as baked one, made some homemade rolls, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, yams, and my parents brought the pumpkin pie and the chocolate pie! For 7 of us we had PLENTY of left overs but it was just so good! There was also plenty of wine too! After dinner my parents stuck around and played some Cranium with Tyler and me; it was a blast!

Christmas festivities
Every single weekend of December consisted of parties! The first was my work party which involved some dinner, drinks, white elephant gift exchange and some stress-free bonding time with the work friends. I had never been to a work party since I started working at St Luke's (terrible huh? It never seemed to fit my schedule!) so it was nice to finally be able to go!

The next weekend was Tyler's work Christmas party. Kaz and his wife Shelley, Ty and his wife Tara, Tyler and myself went out to dinner downtown and then went to a few places to have drinks. It was such a great time! I am so glad Tyler was lucky enough to start working for these guys last Spring and it has been really great getting to know them and their families.

The next weekend was my family Christmas party. There were 36 family members who turned up making it a full house! Again there was lots of great food, a fun White Elephant gift exchange and good time spent with my family. Tyler seems to be fitting in with the family nicely which makes me incredibly happy! I always enjoy myself and this get together and am glad that I got to visit with my grandpa before he went to the assisted living. Next year just won't be the same.

The following weekend was Christmas itself! The Thursday before we got an unexpected visitor and it was the one and only Genevieve! Tyler's sister had come home from the Bahamas which made Christmas all the more special and enjoyable! I totally got spoiled for Christmas! Between the beautiful handmade gifts Tyler made me and all the fantatic and thoughtful gifts I got from my family, I made out like a bandit!

New Year's
New Year's was spent in Tuscon, AZ with Tyler's family. The next blog will detail that!
