For the past few weeks I have been seeing people post on Facebook what they are grateful for and we did an exercise at work as well so I have been giving it some thought and these are the things I am grateful for:
1. My health- I know I am sick more than most people but I always think, "It could be worse". I am lucky that my illnesses are fairly benign
2. My family- They have always been there for me. I am lucky enough to have a large family and I love every one of them. My immediate family is pretty amazing though, particularly my mom who has always been my best friend. Dusty, Ron, and September definitely make my family the best one ever!
3. Tyler- I never thought I could love someone so much. Someone who makes me want to be there best person I can be. I have been selfish in past relationships and he makes it so easy for me to happy doing things for/with him, just as he does for me. It is a partnership and one that works well together. Last year I spent Thanksgiving with him and his sister and it was a wonderful experience having such an intimate dinner. This year I get to spend it with him again and I hope there are many, many more years of sharing this day with him.
4. My friends- A few years ago I was going out a lot like a typical early 20s girl and I had a lot of girlfriends whom I did everything with. I also had some guy friends who were there for me when I didn't have a boyfriend. There have been a lot of changes in me life in te last couple of years and the friends I have today are because I choose them to be. It's not about the quantity of friends or about the people you are friends with just because you have always been friends with them. It is about the people who show you they care and are always there for you. Those are the ones that matter.
5. My job- It has been challenging and rewarding and seems to just keep getting better as time goes on. I am grateful for my St Luke's family
6. My home and all the wonderful animals who reside here- I have lived in my house for 2 years this week and I have loved every minute of it. The changes I have made and the additions have made it so cozy and warm. It's a safe haven, a place to have a good time and it is just beautiful! My cats, dog, and chickens have made it that much better. I love knowing I always have someone to cuddle with or pet and that there is so much love in this home.
7. Weight Watchers- for the first time in my life I feel like I am making a permanent change to my body. I have lost weight on and off during my life and I have had times where I was really healthy with my body and was at a good weight. However it was never consistent and obviously didn't stick with me. I think I have finally found something that will be permanent and help me succeed with food and weight control.

There are many other things that I am grateful for (coffee, chocolate, Tyler's cooking, my mom's cookies, Old Navy and GAP, and a variety of other things) but those are the highlights.
